‘Cortijo Amapola’ offers self-catering holiday accommodation in an Andalucian country villa with large swimming pool. Set amongst olive and almond groves in the spectacularly beautiful region of the Axarquia, inland Costa del Sol, with panoramic hillside views of Lake Vinuela and the Mediterranean.
La Amapola is in one of the most beautiful rural locations in southern Spain. The view from the large hill-top swimming pool is absolutely spectacular, stretching down over olive groves and meadows of wild flowers to the blue lake below and on to the sea.
The villa itself is spacious and airy, styled with a Mediterranean feel with whitewashed walls, terracotta tiles and wooden beams in the high ceilings, and furnished in understated luxury. Accommodation consists of three double bedrooms, sleeping up to six adults and 2 children, with 2 bathrooms, a living room and a large open-plan kitchen and dining room.
Outside is a large verandah with dining terrace and outdoor barbecue for eating alfresco under the grapevines, and a Moorish walled courtyard with flowering climbers, jasmine and bougainvillea. There are all kinds of pretty, hidden corners in which to read a book , sip a chilled drink and get away from it all.
The 3 acres of grounds are a treasure trove of natural splendour, with virtually no passing traffic, apart from the occasional horse-rider or herd of mountain goats.
